My Mission to Genuinely Build Bridges
My mission in life has always been to provide service to others. I am an advocate for social justice and promoter of equality. I learned at an early age in order to produce social change you must invoke the power of the media. Through my college years, I have been an active community motivator, serving on various boards in church, school, and community promoting civic responsibility and community development . I have served as the News Editor for Benedict College's Tiger News newspaper, researching, developing, and writing stories on equality, social justice, and education.
My fight for equality transcends the press and community outreach to the Office of Civil Rights, where I learned to introduce and integrate ideologies of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. I am competent in the art of mediation and have learned to communicate to audiences with diverse backgrounds. While working with the Broadcasting Board of Governors and Voice of America, I have produced, constructed, and marketed various initiatives and produced online content, from video to print, with civic duty, diversity, and inclusion at the forefront.
Currently developing a nonprofit news outlet, LANCAR Ink, I am working to provide minority students, with multimedia publication opportunities. Through community service, professional development and marketing training. LANCAR provides the necessary tools to build and promote a journalism portfolio, prior to entering the media industry.
LANCAR bridges the cultural gap between You and Mainstream America. LANCAR showcases journalistic talents of a diverse group of students, on a variety of issues including but not limited to higher education, politics and social justice.
